A child doesn't choose poverty - but you can choose to change their life
With today's cost-of-living crisis affecting many - we are seeking to raise public awareness about the impact of poverty on children and the different forms it can take.
We encourage everyone to think about what change they can make to help reduce the effects poverty has on children’s lives.
What would you change for a child experiencing poverty?
Our latest live stream fundraising campaign to help raise vital funds for children living in poverty in Australia is now live.
We’re working with live streamers from around Australia, who will be raising donations for us through their own online communities whilst they live stream.
If you like to live stream, that could be playing games, tabletop crafting or just having a conversation with your mates, and would like to get involved then click this link and hit ‘start fundraising’.
Come and help us change the game for children. One stream at a time.
Stansfield House is named after Richard Stansfield, who gifted the home to Barnardos in his Will.
This property has been integral to delivering our services on NSW’s South Coast for the last 30 years. Richard’s legacy now includes every child, young person and family whose lives have been changed through programs conducted there, and that legacy will continue for years to come.
Cindy* is now able to provide for her brothers and keep the family together
18-year-old Cindy found herself struggling to pay the rent and provide for her younger brothers who now relied on her after their father passed away.
Barnardos was able to help Cindy budget so she could afford groceries and pay the bills as well as support her brothers with their education, health and basic needs. Cindy and her brothers were able to stay together and with a great support network.
Become a Barnardos Buddy today and be a champion for children every day of the year!
At Barnardos, the vital work we do with children, young people and their families is only made possible thanks to the generous donations we receive from our supporters. If you feel inspired by these stories, you can become a Barnardos Buddy by making a recurring gift. Your ongoing gift will provide crucial ongoing care and support to vulnerable children.
