We hope you had a wonderful festive season and a happy New Year. It is with thanks to all of our champions and supporters, that Barnardos was able to support over 15,000 vulnerable children, young people and their families last year - and this year we aim to help many more!
This month we continue to raise awareness on the serious and lasting impact that domestic violence leaves on children and how we’re working to help them on their journey to healing. Learn more about how we are partnering with the e-Sports and gaming community to raise vital funds for children in our programs.Be inspired by Margaret who is continuing her mother's legacy of giving back and hear from one of our inspiring families about their journey from foster care to open adoption.
Mia was determined not to let domestic violence destroy her life
Mia is a remarkable young person from our Youth Program who has shown incredible resilience and courage after experiencing domestic and family violence as a child, but her journey to healing was not easy.
Watch her story to find out how we’ve helped Mia have a brighter future.
Katelynd and Kate are just some of our amazing carers who have opened their hearts and home to two young brothers in need. They continue to emphasise the importance of birth family connection, ensuring the boys grow up with a healthy sense of identity and belonging.

Barnardos partners with global industry heavyweights to talk about eSports, gaming and fundraising!
Following the successful launch of our latest fundraising initiative called The League of Champions, Barnardos has been selected as the official charity partner at a new national event called the Business of eSports and Gaming in Melbourne this April.
This opportunity will give us a national stage on which to talk more about our vision and the work we do to help vulnerable children and young people. We’ll also be taking part in a town-hall type discussion around how eSports are borderless, and that gaming is for all abilities and communities.
Margaret Ogden is one of our amazing champions for children. Inspired by her mother Betty who was “a very caring woman, whose life was all about service”, Margaret worked at our Barnardos Gosford office for over 16 years, providing support to children and their foster carers.
Margaret's decision to support Barnardos by leaving a gift in her will, reflects her belief in our impactful work and her desire to continue her mother's legacy of giving back.
Join us this Sunday 18th of February as we celebrate Fair Day at Victoria Park, Broadway.
We will have a stall there with our team of experts to answer all your foster care and adoption questions. We will also have some fabulous merchandise to give away as well. Entry to Fair Day is free.
At Barnardos, the vital work we do with children, young people and their families is only made possible thanks to the generous donations we receive from our supporters. If you are inspired by these stories, you can make a donation to help bring safety, hope, and joy to the lives of Australia’s most vulnerable children.
