At Barnardos, we know brighter futures for children are built when we come together as a community. This month is filled with powerful ways you can be part of that change, from joining our first Big Give for Brighter Futures, celebrating the incredible strength of our foster and kinship carers, standing with children experiencing homelessness and honouring the culture and resilience celebrated during NAIDOC Week.
We’re also excited to share opportunities for you to connect with us in new ways like taking on the adventure of a lifetime trekking the Great Wall of China, or shaping the future of Barnardos by sharing your voice in our short brand survey.
Get ready for The Big Give for Brighter Futures!
On Thursday, 4 September, Barnardos is holding our first-ever Giving Day.
For 24 hours only, every donation will be MATCHED by our amazing Big Givers, helping us support more families, keep children safe, and give every child a brighter future. Don’t miss out, every donation counts and is doubled for just one day!
We just want to say a big thank you to all our amazing foster carers!
Foster and Kinship Care week is coming up next month - a special time to recognise the extraordinary role our carers play in children’s lives.
Every day, our carers show remarkable strength, compassion, and commitment, creating safe and stable homes for children to heal and thrive.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being a champion for children. Thank you for believing in them, for never giving up on them, for changing their lives.
Join Barnardos on this 8-day, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to trek the Great Wall of China.
Explore remote sections of the Great Wall, connect with like-minded people, and help raise vital funds to build safer homes, stronger communities, and brighter futures.

No child should have to wonder where they'll sleep
Right now in Australia, over 77,000 children rely on homelessness support each year*. At Barnardos we see the harsh reality so many families face. The housing crisis, along with rising living costs, forces children into unstable, unsafe situations.
We see the invisible wounds. We hear the quiet pleas. And we know that when families are supported with housing, financial stability, and community care, children can recover. They can thrive.
During Homelessness Week we encouraged everyone to stand with children.
We had such an amazing time celebrating NAIDOC week at Barnardos Australia last month. With community events and moments of reflection, the week was full of reminders of the strength, resilience and culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We're so proud to celebrate the next generation who’ll carry this legacy into the future.
Valued supporters like you are at the centre of everything we do, and so we would like to understand your perspective on our current brand - our values, how we present ourselves and what's important to you.
To do this, we invite you to click the button below and fill out a short survey which should take just ten minutes to complete.
Your response will help to shape the future direction of our organisation. Deadline for submissions is Friday, 12 September, 5pm.
Become a Barnardos Buddy today and be a champion for children every day of the year!
At Barnardos, the vital work we do with children, young people and their families is only made possible thanks to the generous donations we receive from our supporters. If you feel inspired by these stories, you can become a Barnardos Buddy by making a recurring gift. With your ongoing gift, children in need can receive the care and support to help them thrive.
